Pruszcz Gdański is situated in Pomeranian Province, at the meeting points of Żuławy and Kashubian Lakeland, which has a large impact on the diversity of types of landscape in the vicinity. Radunia river flows through the city and Radunia channel has its beginning here. The development of the city is focused at the foot of East Pomeranian Lakeland and gently moves toward the Vistula delta plain
Pruszcz is a part of the Tricity agglomeration, only 10 km from the centre of Gdańsk. The city is the seat of Gdańsk Poviat and Municipality of Pruszcz Gdański. It is situated by trunk road number 91 and main railway to Warsaw. Nearby runs also the Tricity bypass and the A-1 freeway.
